The Kelsam Chess Clock in action!

If you've ever used a chess clock you know it can be annoying to figure out how to do the simplest of tasks, let alone use any advanced features. Starting a 10-minute match or even restarting after a match requires memorizing a clock-specific button combination or fumbling through instructions. Our clock sets out to solve that, offering all the advanced features of a deluxe chess clock without needing a manual to use any of it. How? Menus!

The Kelsam Chess Clock features an OLED display that renders little menus you can easily click through to find and use all functionality. You don't have to memorize anything. There isn't even a manual to open! Just scroll through the menus to find everything you need.

For those that aren't familiar with advanced chess clock functionality, here's what you need to know:

  • Increment - adds time to the clock after every move
  • Delay - adds a pause before the clock begins on every move
  • Bronstein Delay - refunds time to the clock after every move (limited to how much time was spent on the move, cannot gain time)
  • Freestyle Chess - this is a Chess variant that involves changing the starting positions of non-pawn pieces, keeping the King between two Rooks and Bishops on opposite-color squares

Components

You can either make your own clock with your own components, or you can get the components below that our STLs are designed for.

These are either the exact parts we used or the closest equivalent we could find for ones that were delisted. Be aware that sometimes products can be updated/replaced and still have the same product page, so these may no longer be compatible with our design. Buy at your own risk. If you want to use our clock box design, you'll need these exact components:

If you want to use different components and your own body design, the OS should still work as long as you're running it on an Arduino Uno R4 Minima, are using a SH1106 128x64 OLED display, and TM1637 7-segment displays.

Chess
Custom Chess BoxChess
We got a gorgeous new fossil stone chess set, but it came in a decrepit green box, so we made our own.
Other Player Aid Projects
Turn Tracker & MarkerStar Wars Poker: Kessel Sabacc
We didn't find any sort of turn tracker for Kessel Sabacc, so we designed this one to make it clear how many turns you have left.
Galaxy MatsTwilight Imperium Fourth Edition
Many players wanted a nice game mat to place on their hard-top table, so we made this galaxy mat and have updated it several times to fit requests.
Reference SheetsStarCraft: The Board Game
This is a rework of the unit reference from the expansion rulebook and a player reference for each faction's buildings, modules, and orders.
Acrylic TokensTwilight Imperium Fourth Edition
We designed these laser cut acrylic tokens before we started 3D printing. They're pretty expensive, but awesome if you want that extra flare.
3D Printed TokensTwilight Imperium Fourth Edition
After trying to find a way to offer color-specific tokens that aren't as crazy expensive as laser cut acrylic, we decided to make our own.
Deck Descriptions Reference CardTyrants of the Underdark
We had a crazy hard time finding short descriptions for all of the decks so we created this one to have a handy reference.
3D Printed Hyperlane TilesTwilight Imperium Fourth Edition
We printed these hyperlane tiles to make it easier to setup the Hyperlanes variant if you're playing with 3, 5, or 7 players.
Custom Gaming TableTabletop Projects
This is what we came up with for the center of a Venn diagram between "Wants a big fancy gaming table" and "Doesn't want to spend thousands on it".
Errata Fix-It StickersWorld of WarCraft: The Board Game
We created a few fix-it stickers per the Errata listed in the FAQ.
Icon ReferenceRunebound Second Edition
We made an expansions icon reference sheet so we could easily see which content belongs to what expansion.
Custom PlaymatCodex: Card-Time Strategy
Our main design goals were to have them fit in the box without rolling/folding, have a low-profile patrol zone, and have a large play area.
Re-based Miniatures Team FlagsAdrenaline
We were unaware of the new expansion's team bases until after our minis were re-based, but made these 3D Printed counterparts that work with our custom bases.
Reusable Deduction BoardsAlchemists
We adjusted the sheets, bought some minimal-border picture frames and wet-erase markers, put it all together, and now have reusable boards.
Story Tracking SheetLegacy of Dragonholt
We don't track the entries that we go through, so we decided it'd be a lot easier to have all our story tracking on one sheet.
Game StorageTabletop Projects
We store most of our games vertically on IKEA Kallax shelves for ease of access and reset during cleanup so they set up faster.
Unofficial FAQHOPE
We had some questions and the only FAQ we could find was in French, so we compiled all the answers we could find into one printable booklet.
First Player TokenWarCraft: The Board Game
We wanted to have a token to track the first player, so we tossed this one together.
Character Skills StickersChaostle
This is our approach to character skill reference labels. They are designed to be adhered to the backs of your character cards.
Do Something MarkerTabletop Projects
We originally created this to replace a marker in Magic Maze, but it's so great for passing around that we now use it as a generic first person or turn marker.
Improved Cauldron ShelvesAlchemists
We didn't like playing on the shallow shelf that folds out of the cauldron pieces, so we made deeper shelves out of a bit of foam core.
Vacuum Tray ModelEarth Reborn
We drafted a 3D model of the vacuum insert tray based on the measurements file from Ludically.
Target StandeeWorms: The Board Game
We had a hard time keeping track of the Target Token when the board got messy so we created a standee version!
